We offer short term assistance by providing a food bank hamper that includes community resource contact information, to help reduce stress. When appropriate, we refer students to community resources.
We collect data on our users in order to advocate for student needs. All personal information collected is unavailable to anyone outside of the SA Food Bank. Only statistical data is released to stakeholders for advocacy purposes. Statistical information includes the number of students accessing services, the funding sources of students in need and their demographic data. Any person accessing the Peer Support Centre is expected to adhere to the Confidentiality and Respect Principles posted in the centre.
If you need some copies made, stop by our office and we would be happy to make some for you. The cost is 10 cents per page.
Games are available for students to use in Crave and The Den Located outside of the Students Association Office. Why not play some pool, air hockey, or ping-pong! Everything that you need to play is located in either the office or Crave to be signed out; just ask!
We are pleased to provide you with great activities throughout the year. Most of the events are free or a nominal fee is charged to offset any major costs. Keep your eyes peeled for fabulous bands, hysterical comedians, inspiring speakers and many other acts. A great deal of our events take place in Crave, your student pub. There is always something going on, and if you have an awesome idea, stop by the office and let us know.
We offer locker rentals for a small fee. Students are required to supply their own locks. The cost of lockers is $10.00/semester for half size lockers and $15.00/semester for full size lockers. Students who withdraw from College during the college year forfeit their locker fee. The Students’ Association does not accept responsibility for any damage or theft to locker contents. Remember, the College reserves the right to open any student locker at any time. Lockers must be cleaned out at the end of each semester. Locker contents than have not been cleared by these dates will have the locks cut off and the contents disposed of.
We offer a cheap faxing service for our students; the cost is $1.00 per page within Canada/US and $2.00 page for international calls. Local calls are free and to receive a fax at our office is no charge, our fax number is: 403-504-3522. We will hold your fax for one week so make sure you stop by and pick them up.
The Students’ Association, through Foster Parents Plan of Canada sponsors a needy child in Sudan. For a few dollars per year, we help brighten the present and the future of this incredible child. If you wish to make a donation or write to our foster child, please stop by our office for more information.
